Growing Confidence is currently working with educational establishments across Edinburgh to support what is already taking place to promote children's health and well-being. Schools in Edinburgh are using whole school curriculum materials to support the development of children's emotional health and well-being (such as Creating Confident Kids amongst others).
Growing Confidence has developed a Pupil Well-being Questionnaire for P3 - P7 children to track the impact of these whole school approaches. It is an online, animated and interactive tool using 30 questions closely aligned to the Curriculum For Excellence, Health & Well-being Outcomes and Experiences. It offers staff and pupils the opportunity to identify strengths and areas of development unique to their school. Click here for more information about the Pupil Well-being Questionnaire
Additionally, our funding has been used to support extra curricular programmes that help children develop self awareness, resilience, communication and social skills like Seasons for Growth. As a result, over the past 3 and a half years approx 500 children and young people from The City of Edinburgh Council schools have benefited from this programme. Growing Confidence is currently also supporting practitioners to develop additional resources for: The work with children is part of the Growing Confidence holistic model to promote emotional health and well-being and complements the work being done with staff and parents and carers.
